Bond set at $1.9 million for Harlingen man accused of murder

A judge set bond Sunday at $1.9 million for a Harlingen man accused of murder.

Anthony Eliff III, 44, of Harlingen appeared before a judge Sunday on charges of murder and possession of a controlled substance, according to a news release from the Harlingen Police Department.

Eliff is accused of killing 41-year-old Guillermo Garcia. Officers found Garcia "sitting in a parked vehicle with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the chest" on Feb. 6, according to the news release. After an investigation, officers arrested Eliff.

The judge set bond at $1.9 million for the murder charge and $40,000 for the drug charge.
