FALFURRIAS – Border Patrol agents are staying on top of new smuggling trends.

Five suspects are in custody after attempting to use a fake EMS vehicle to cross the Falfurrias Checkpoint.

“A smuggler used a EMT or EMS vehicle to try to bring four people through the check point,” says Border Patrol Agent Carlos Ruiz.

KRGV’s Trason Bragg met with Border Patrol agents to find out about recent smuggling trends.

The Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Constable, Larry Gallardo Jr., says they sometimes make up to 30 apprehensions per day.

It’s crucial for them work with Border Patrol in these instances.
