BROWNSVILLE – Brownsville police need help finding a suspect believed to be involved in nine aggravated robberies throughout the city.

Investigators said the first of the nine robberies happened in April. A man walked into a loan company with a handgun and robbed employees.

“We don’t want to take a chance, and the level of violence increasing to where this guy is going to do something to someone and it’s going to be… end up being worse,” Brownsville Police Investigator J.J. Trevino said.

He said a jewelry store owner was physically assaulted.

Trevino added people shouldn’t discredit even small bits of information because it could be what leads to a crack in the case.

Crime Stoppers and Brownsville police are offering a $4,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 546-8477.
