SOUTH PADRE ISLAND - About 60 turtles that washed up on shore in South Padre Island are being released.

Employees at Sea Turtle, Inc. said the sea turtles went into shock when freezing temperatures set in over the weekend. They said many of them are now healthy and can swim on their own.

About 130 additional sea turtles are still being treated for cold shock and will be released Thursday.

Some of the injured turtles will remain on the island permanently at Sea Turtle, Inc.
