Crews Complete Repairs on Sinkhole at McAllen Intersection

MCALLEN – Crews said soil infiltrating an abandoned underground utility pipe caused a sinkhole in McAllen.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS reported a three-foot hole caused police to reduce traffic lanes at the intersection of Nolana Avenue and Bentsen Road last week.

Eduardo Mendoza with the city of McAllen said crews dug out the soil and filled the pipe with concrete.
