Edinburg Municipal Court to Hold Amnesty Program

EDINBURG--The Edinburg Municipal Court will hold a two-week amnesty program for people with outstanding citations.
     People can pay their citations without being arrested from Monday, January 16th to Friday, January 27th. The City will waive all Class "C" arrest warrants and dismiss the failure to appear charge.
     You can pay in full or make arrangements to pay in installments. You must show up in person.
     More than $8 million in outstanding ticket citations is owed to the court since 2007. In total, there are 36,000 outstanding cases. Violations include traffic and penal code Class "C" offenses.
     If you don't take advantage of this amnesty period, be aware the Court will conduct six warrant roundups in February and March.  The warrant roundup days are scheduled for Feb. 3-4, 10-11, 17-18, and March 3-4, 10-11, and 13-17.
     You can pay your ticket at the Edinburg Municipal Court located at 1702 S. Closner Boulevard on the north inside part of the Edinburg Police Department.
     The court is open between 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays.
