BROWNSVILLE – An employee at a local shelter for immigrant youth is speaking out about the conditions of the detention facility.

The man, who is to remain anonymous, is familiar with the operations at the facility and says the children there are treated with respect.

He explains that the images provided by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, which show the living conditions, are inaccurate.  

The Flores Settlement addressed the mistreatment of minors and changed the way minors were processed.
