Forecasted Cold Front Prompts Valley Shelters to Open, Heaters Available

WESLACO – This week’s forecasted cold front has prompted shelters in the Rio Grande Valley to open their doors.

The following shelters will be taking in people who need a place to stay warm:

Brownsville

The Hidalgo County Community Service Agency will start accepting applications for a free space heater Tuesday.

Qualifying families can apply at their Edinburg offices. Qualifications are based on income and age.
