Harlingen South basketball star Jiselle Montemayor signed her letter of intent to Concordia University on Monday afternoon.

Montemayor was a two-way star for the Lady Hawks basketball team, earning Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in her district during her time with the team. She was also a District 32-5A Co-MVP.

This past season, she helped Harlingen South go undefeated in district play en route to winning a second straight district title.

"It means so much to me, honestly last year me wouldn't think this would be possible but you know I fought the battles and everything like that to be here to this day and it means so much to me for all my family and friends to be showing up for me today," Montemayor said.
