Hidalgo County Precinct 4 is hosting a free Back-to-School Health & Wellness Fair for families in Edinburg.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Aug. 7, 2026, at the Precinct 4 Endowment Community Resource Center at 107 N. Sunflower Rd., Edinburg.

Families can get free haircuts for students and free school supplies while they last. Vaccinations will be available for $5 or at no cost with qualifying insurance.

Health and wellness information, community resources and educational materials will also be on hand.

"Preparing children for school goes beyond purchasing supplies," Hidalgo County Precinct 4 Commissioner Ellie Torres said in a statement. "By bringing health services, community resources, and school essentials together in one place, we hope to make the back-to-school season a little easier for families while helping students begin the school year healthy, confident, and ready to learn."

The fair is open to the public. Officials encourage families to arrive early since some items and services are available while supplies last.
