BROWNSVILLE – Lines at the international bridge are concerning local residents.

Magdalena Martinez says it took her 10 minutes to get permission from federal agents to cross into the U.S.

"It went well for us, there wasn't a lot of line. The crossing was fast and simple, we didn't really wait," says Martinez.

Francisco Garces claims that wasn’t the case for him.

He says it took him about one hour to cross the bridge Sunday.

Border Patrol spokesman, Elias Rodriguez, says Christmas and the New Year holiday are the busiest time of the year at ports of entry.

"Have your documents in hand and be ready to declare any agricultural product to the officers at the checkpoint," advises Rodriguez.

He asks travelers to have patience and recommends travelers to check the border-wait times to see anticipated crossing times.
