BROWNSVILLE – A Brownsville man was charged in a crash that killed a 79-year-old man Thursday night.

Twenty-three-year-old Marving Andres Resendiz is facing criminal negligent homicide charges.

Police said he was driving erratically and against traffic near the 4000 block of Boca Chica Boulevard.

Resendiz struck the victim’s truck on the side, while a third vehicle struck the victim from behind.

The man died at the scene.

Resendiz tried to flee the scene on foot, but was apprehended shortly after.
