McAllen Police Spread Cheer with Turkeys Instead of Traffic Citations

MCALLEN – With so many people hitting the road for the holiday, the number of traffic violations is bound to go up.

In the city of McAllen, those numbers dropped Wednesday morning as police were trading tickets for turkeys.

Surprised and thankful. A feeling dozens of drivers in McAllen had when officers pulled them over and appeared with a turkey instead of a citation.

McAllen police along with the crime stoppers teamed up for their annual turkey drive as part of their “ticket or turkey” event.
