McAllen may be growing, but the city is losing an elementary school.

In a letter sent to parents, McAllen ISD Superintendent Dr. J.A. Gonzalez said Bonham Elementary School is closing down.

Gonzalez said Bonham families can choose to attend any elementary school they want and bus transportation and after-school care will be provided.
