National Guard to Arrive at Texas-Mexico Border Soon
WESLACO – The Texas National Guard announced Friday they’re heading toward the southern border to help secure it.
Authorities say while the troops will be supporting Border Patrol field agents, exact assignments are still being “worked out.”
Brigadier General Tracy Norris with the Texas Military Department says by the end of the weekend, at least 250 National Guardsmen will be placed along the Texas-Mexico border.
We are still trying to find out exactly where they will be stationed.
