Port Isabel Man Charged with Multiple Burglaries

A Port Isabel man is being held on a $55,000 bond.

Jacob Ismael Rodriguez was charged with burglary of habitation and burglary of a vehicle.

Police said early Friday morning, they spotted him running from Island Avenue towards Port Road.

While speaking to officers, Rodriguez appeared nervous and was dropping pills.

During further investigation, he confessed that he had just burglarized a vehicle and home.

He's now held in the Cameron County Jail.
