Surveillance Video of Fugitive’s Arrest at SPI Released

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – CHANNEL 5 NEWS obtained video recorded inside the restaurant were the manhunt for a woman accused in two murders came to a halt.

Lois Ann Riess is accused of killing her husband in her home state of Minnesota and another woman in Florida.

Sea Ranch Restaurant and Bar owner Bob Friedman released the surveillance video where Riess was seen drinking and eating just before her arrest.

He tells us she ordered food and chatted with other people in the bar, who he says were also tourists.

Friedman says she took out a $100 bill to pay her tab. But minutes later, he says U.S. Marshals approached Riess.

The 56-year-old woman remains in custody at Cameron County jail without bond.

Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio says Florida or Minnesota authorities now have 10 business days to pick her up.
