Suspect in 30-Year-Old Woman's Murder Arraigned

UPDATE (10/3): The suspect held in the case of a 30-year-old woman's death was charged. 

Twenty-nine-year-old Eduardo Cruz Gonzalez is charged with murder.

He was arraigned Tuesday morning at the Hidalgo County Detention Center. 

It's believed the victim was bludgeoned to death at a home on Brittney Street near Penitas. According to authorities, Gonzalez admitted to the crime.

NEAR PENITAS – Police said a person of interest in a homicide investigation in Penitas is in custody and is expected to be formally charged on Tuesday.

The victim, 30-year-old Adaly Tellez Johnson was found dead at a home on the 3900 block of Brittney Street on Sunday. The body was discovered by the victim's common-law husband's brother.

The investigation is ongoing.
