CENTRAL

AUSTIN: FAIR. Water Clear; 62-65 degrees; 0.72’ low. Dusk is the optimal time to fish for all game species. Largemouth bass are fair with topwater, rigged plastic worms, spinners, jigs, and crankbaits. Sunfish are slow on cutworms, and corn coming out from structure. Catfish are fair on perch, gulp minnows, mainly at night rigging at least 4 feet under bobbers.

BASTROP: FAIR. Slightly stained; 53-55 degrees; Largemouth bass continue to be fair, finding warmer water around the dam, sticking to shallow water vegetation and points. Small spinners, Carolina rigged plastic worms, and crankbaits continue to excel. Crappie are slow on jigs and live bait seeking structure. Channel and blue winter catfish are good on stinkbait or cut bait.

BELTON: FAIR. Lightly stained; 54-55 degrees; 3.04’ low. Black bass are fair on grubs, jigs, plastic worms, smaller spinners, and smaller crankbait. Continue to work shallow water in the mudflats and near spawning areas. Hybrid stripers have slowed a bit the past week on live bait and jigs mid-lake channels and deep fishing water. Crappie are slow on jigs. Catfish are fair on shad, shrimp, blood bait, and stinkbait.

BROWNWOOD: FAIR. Lightly stained; 51-53 degrees; 3.65’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on crankbaits, jigs, spinners, topwater, and plastic worms. Largemouth are moving towards warm water. White bass are fair on Alabama rigs on deeper points. Catfish have been good on prepared bait night fishing, and shad baited trotlines.

BUCHANAN: FAIR. Water stained; 54-55 degrees; 3.70’ low. Largemouth bass are fair fishing docks, points, and murkier water. Fish bass with jigs, spinners, crankbaits, and plastic worms. Striped bass are among the mid-lake humps on live shad and swimbaits. White bass are good on minnows within deep water. Crappie are slow on jigs and minnows. Channel catfish have been good on stinkbait, live and cut bait.

CANYON LAKE: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 54-55 degrees; 3.14’ low. Striper fishing is fair on main lake points and humps with topwaters and jigs. Largemouth bass are fair among points with worms and crankbait early and late and overcast days fish the standing timber. Catfish are good with live and cut bait throughout the lake.

FAYETTE: GOOD. Water lightly stained. 54 degrees; Largemouth bass continue to be good on worms and crankbait in the standing timber, vegetation, and drop-offs. Sunfish are fair on worms and crickets. Catfish are good on stinkbait, live bait, and cut bait.

GRANBURY: FAIR. Water lightly stained. 54-55 degrees. 0.32’ low. Crappie fishing is fair around brush piles and boat docks with minnows and jigs. Catfishing is fair when using punch bait or cut bait near deeper water. White bass are fair mid-lake. Largemouth bass can be found around boat docks and timber. Stripers are continuing to be slow.

GRANGER: SLOW. Water clear; 55 degrees; 0.21’ high. Black bass are slow fishing main lake points and vegetation. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows casting the edges of structure. White bass are slow. Catfish are fair with stink bait and cut bait.

LBJ: GOOD. Water stained; 55-56 degrees; 4.87’ low. Black bass have had continued success in coves, in shallow water vegetation and beneath docks on jigs, spinners, and crankbait. Crappie are good on jigs under docks. White bass will be slow till February. Catfish are good on stinkbait and cut bait.

LIMESTONE: FAIR. Water stained; 54 degrees; 3.31’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on plastic worms and spinners on points in creek bed vegetation, and points of the lake moving towards natural cover. White bass are fair with spoons and small jigs. Crappie are slow on minnows and jigs in standing timber and beneath docks in 10 feet or less. Catfish are good on cut shad or prepped baits. Flatheads are more consistent with live bait.

NAVARRO MILLS: FAIR. Water stained; 53-54 degrees. 2.54’ low. Crappie are fair on minnows around the marina and timber. Catfish are good with live bait throughout the lake. White bass are fair on Alabama rigs covering long stretches of ridges. Black bass are fair with spinners, crankbaits, and jigs.

PROCTOR: FAIR. Water lightly stained. 53-55 degrees. 3.53’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on plastic worms, spinners, and jigs with submerged cover and brush. Hybrid stripers are trolling jigs and topwater watching for surface activity. Crappie are fair with jigs on points close to the spillway. Catfish have been good on stinkbait and cut bait.

SOMERVILLE: GOOD. Water stained; 55 degrees; 0.28’ low. White bass and hybrids are good among points and creek structure on minnows, rattle traps, and Alabama rigs. Crappie fishing is good with smaller minnows. Catfish are good throughout the lake with cut shad and stinkbait. Largemouth bass are great with plastic worms, crankbait, larger spinners, and jigs near vegetation and the western creeks plus flats.

STILLHOUSE HOLLOW: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 54-55 degrees; 3.37’ low. Black bass are fair on topwater, jigs, crankbaits, and Carolina rigged plastic worms in hydrilla covered patches, rock points and within striking distance of quick dropping shorelines. White bass are slow. Catfish are fair with live and cut bait, and trot lining is popular.

TRAVIS: GOOD. Water clear; 54 degrees; 10.01’ low. Largemouth bass are good working finesse baits on mid-lake humps and straight drop shoreline ridges. White bass have been fair mid-lake with smaller spinners, crankbaits, and jigs. Catfish are fair on cut bait and stinkbait, excelling with blues and flatheads.

WALTER E. LONG: GOOD. Clear to slightly stained. 54-55 degrees; Largemouth bass are good among natural vegetation with plastic worms, topwaters, and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad and minnows. Crappie continues to be poor, but activity is rising from non-existent. Catfish are fair on live bait and stinkbait. Sunfish are good and can be caught on any natural baits like worms or crickets.

WACO: FAIR. Water lightly stained. 54 degrees; 5.19’ low. Largemouth bass continue to be good on spinnerbaits, weighted plastic worms in creek structure, and surrounding points plus vegetation. Crappie are good on minnows, and weighted light-colored jigs in creeks and man-made “crappie condos.” Sunfish are fair on worms or crickets. Channel and blue catfish are fair on cut shad, live bait, and blood flavored-prepped bait.

WHITNEY: GOOD. Water stained 55 degrees; 6.27’ low. Black bass are excellent on deep diving crankbaits, plastic worms, jigs, and spinnerbaits with deep water structure and ledges deeper than 20 feet. White bass are fair on Alabama rigs and with minnows in the south end deep water. Crappie are fair with minnows and jigs looking mid-lake to the north with the structure in 10 feet or less. Catfish are fair on cut shad.

NORTHEAST

ARLINGTON: FAIR. Water stained; 58-59 degrees; 1.14' low. Largemouth bass continue to be good near boat dock structure, submerged timber, and with the warm water of the plant. Fish worms, spinners, jigs, rattletraps, and Alabama rigs when searching for bass, crappie, and white bass. Crappie are fair under boat docks. Catfish are fair on live bait and stinkbait throughout the lake and around the plant.

ATHENS: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 51-53 degrees; 0.07’ low. Largemouth bass continue to be good on Carolina rigged worms, jigs, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits fishing submerged timber and vegetation. Crappie are slow on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait and dough balls. Sunfish are slow on cutworms, and corn.

BENBROOK: FAIR. Water stained; 50-52 degrees; 6.44’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on Carolina rigged worms, bass jigs, and crankbait fishing creek beds, along quickly diving shorelines and around boat dock structure. Crappie are fair on minnows in deeper submerged structure. Hybrid striped bass are slow. White bass are fair with slabs, spinners, or spoons by the dam, and main lake points. Catfish are fair on chicken livers, stinkbait, and live bait.

BOB SANDLIN: FAIR. Water stained; 51-52 degrees; 0.08’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on crankbaits, jigs, jerkbaits, and spinners looking for underwater timber stretches. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass are fair on jigs under deeper piers and boat docks. Catfish are good on worms or stinkbait.

BRIDGEPORT: GOOD. Water fairly clear; 54 degrees: 4.85’ low. Black bass are fair on jigs and grubs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Hybrid and smallmouth bass are great on slabs and crankbaits.

CADDO: GOOD. Water stained; 51-52 degrees; 0.60' high. Largemouth bass continue to be good on rigged plastic worms and spinnerbaits with vegetation in Clinton Lake, Back Lake, and Carter Lake. Crappie are good on smaller minnows and jigs among the cypress trunks and gaps in the vegetation. White bass are fair on small spinners in open water with depth. Chain Pickerel have also picked up to fair among submerged vegetation. Catfish are fair on stinkbait and live bait throughout the shallow reservoir.

CEDAR CREEK: FAIR. Water stained; 54-55 degrees, 2.37’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on Carolina rigged creature baits, plastic worms, crankbaits, and spinners on the flats, backs of coves, and boat houses on main lake points. Hybrid stripers and white bass are fair. Crappie continue to be fair on minnows and shooting large docks with jigs. Catfish are good on cut shad, dough bait, and stinkbait.

COOPER: FAIR. Water clear; 52-54 degrees; 1.32’ low. Largemouth bass are good on Carolina rigged worms, crankbaits, and spinners working flooded timber along with mid-lake points with decent drops. The white bass continue to be good on slabs and live bait. Catfish are excellent on live and cut bait.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN: FAIR. Water stained; 53-54 degrees; 1.37’ low. Black bass are fair among reed beds, vegetation, and on the open water side of boat docks with jigs crankbaits, spinners, and plastic worms. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs under boat docks. Catfish are good on cut bait, prepped bait, and liver.

FORK: FAIR TO GOOD. Water stained; 50-54 degrees; 2.03’ low. Largemouth bass are good on crankbaits in 2-8 feet of water. In Lake Fork tradition, there have been several over 10lb largemouth caught in recent weeks. White and yellow bass are fair on Alabama Rigs around timber. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows around any structure. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and cut bait.

GRAHAM: FAIR. Water stained; 51 degrees; 3.00’ low. Largemouth bass are good on artificial baits on vegetation and in warm discharge water. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows around structure and near vegetation. White bass are good on slabs and Alabama rigs. Hybrid strippers can be found in the channel between Graham and Eddleman on rattle traps. Catfish are fair on cut shad and live bait.

GRAPEVINE: FAIR. Water stained; 53-54 degrees; 2.44’ high. Largemouth bass are fair on Carolina rigged plastic worms, spinners, and crankbait around vegetation. White bass are fair on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs around brush piles. Catfish are excellent on live and prepped bait in most parts of the lake.

JACKSONVILLE: FAIR. Water stained; 51 degrees; 0.41' low. Largemouth bass are fair with cranks, worms and spinners in creeks, and close to the dam. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows around piers and up creeks. Catfish are very slow on cut shad and prepped bait.

JOE POOL: GOOD. Water stained; 54-56 degrees; 2.61’ low. Largemouth bass are good fishing any submerged vegetative structure on jigs, worms, and crankbait. Crappie are good beneath bridges and man-made structures with jigs and minnows. Catfish are good on cut bait by the spillway and near creeks.

KEMP: FAIR. Water clear; 53 degrees; 2.38’ low. Largemouth bass are good fishing rocky points, and vegetation with Texas-rigged, straight-tailed worms, crankbait, live bait, and spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on jigs with submerged brush less than 10 feet deep. White bass and hybrid continue to be good on slabs. Catfish are good with blood and liver prepared baits fishing medium to shallow depths.

LAKE O' THE PINES: GOOD. Water stained; 54-55 degrees; 0.59’ high. Largemouth bass are fair on topwater, worms and crankbaits fishing the vegetation edges. Crappie are fair on mostly minnows, and jigs when fishing structure. Catfish are good on live bait. White Bass have been fair on Alabama Rigs with points. Sunfish are poor till the water warms.

LAVON: GOOD. Water stained; 54 degrees: 3.12' low. Crappie are good on jigs and spinners finding healthy structure. White bass have been weak. Black bass are good on crankbaits, worms, lizards, and jigs looking for flooded vegetation. Catfish are excellent on stinkbait.

LEWISVILLE: GOOD. Water stained; 53-54 degrees; 0.37’ low. Black bass are good along the dam, rocky steep dropping shorelines, coves, and flooded timber. The best baits Texas-rigged plastic baits, crankbaits, jigs, and spinnerbaits covering large amounts of water. White bass have stabilized to fair on slabs on deeper points and structure. Crappie are fair on minnows and weighted jigs among brush and vegetation. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and cut bait. Hybrid stripers continue to be slow.

MARTIN CREEK: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 54 degrees; 3.35' low. Largemouth bass are feeling the warmth of the water, and most have started to spawn. Fish shallow water on worms, jigs, crankbaits, and spinners quickly as bass are very active. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows among lily pads and creek structures. Catfish are very good on live bait, cut bait, or prepped bait throughout the lake.

PALESTINE: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 53 degrees; 1.35’ low. Largemouth bass are good on Carolina rigged worms, spinners, lipless cranks continuing to be found in Saline Bay, among creeks moving towards the northern end of the reservoir. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Hybrid stripers are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish continue to be excellent on shad and chicken livers.

PALO PINTO: FAIR. Water stained; 53 degrees; 3.24' low. Largemouth bass are fair under and around docks, and with rocky points dropping quickly. Crappie are fair on live minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on live shad. Striped bass are good on live shad and jigs. Catfish are fair on live shad, minnows, and stinkbait.

RAY HUBBARD: GOOD. Water stained; 53 degrees; 2.76' low. Largemouth bass are good on crankbaits and spinners on the north side of 30 and 66. White bass are fair on drop shots and spinner tail shads sticking to deep water structure. Crappie remain slow on minnows and small jigs using bridge pilings, structures, and brush. Catfish are good on live shad towards the center of the lake. Hybrid are fair on lipless crankbaits in deeper water. The power plant to the spillway has been productive with some sand humps.

RAY ROBERTS: GOOD. Water stained: 54 degrees; 2.46’ high. Largemouth bass are good on Carolina rigged worms/lizards and jigs working points deeper than normal. White bass are excellent in 35 feet of water at night on minnows. Crappie are slow on jigs and minnows around the brush and timber north. Catfish are good on live bait and stinkbait.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 57 degrees; 3.62’ low. Largemouth bass are good on crankbaits, plastic worms, spinners, and jigging spoons. The underwater structure is hard to find, but it will be successful. White bass and hybrids are good on a jigging spoon on the east side. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs around structure. Catfish are good on live bait and cut bait.

SQUAW CREEK: GOOD. Water clear; 54 degrees; 1.19’ low. Catfishing has been excellent around the timber on live bait, chicken livers, and prepped bait. Largemouth bass has been exceptional by rocky shorelines and in coves on soft plastic worms and crankbaits.

SULPHUR SPRINGS: SLOW. Water stained; 55 degrees; 0.44’ low. Largemouth bass continue to be slow with limited success coming as bass move shallower. Crappie continues to be slow on minnows and jigs working all structures. Catfish are fair on cut shad and live bait.

TAWAKONI: FAIR. Water stained; 53 degrees; 1.50’ low. Catfish are excellent on live, cut shad and stinkbait. Largemouth bass are fair on spinnerbaits, plastic worms, and crankbait along the shoreline. White bass and hybrid stripers are good on slabs, spoons, and Alabama rigs among schools of baitfish. Crappie are fair on minnows around structure.

TEXOMA: FAIR. Water stained; 48-50 degrees; 1.86’ high. Striped bass are good using slabs, swimbaits, using flukes, and with live bait around structure and big schools in creeks and channels in the warmest part of the day. Largemouth bass are good drifting live baits and reeled baits across shallow low traffic natural structure. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs by boathouses, submerged vegetation, and timber. Catfish are fair on live shrimp, cut bait, and minnows.

TYLER: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 52 degrees; 1.89’ low. Black bass are great on Carolina rigged creatures and plastic worms in the vegetation cover of both lakes, around the many boat dock structures, and timber-lined shorelines on both lakes. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows in submerged structure, and boat docks. Catfish are fair on stinkbait and live baits. White bass are slow.

WEATHERFORD: FAIR. Water stained; 53 degrees; 0.82’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and plastic worms using boat houses, brush piles, and points as structure. White bass are fair with minnows, shad crankbaits, and Alabama rigs on ridges. Crappie have been excellent on minnows and jigs, relying on all man-made structures. Catfish are good on crawfish, livers, blood baits, and cut bait.

WORTH: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 50-52 degrees; 1.86' low. Largemouth bass continue to be fair on buzzbaits, spinners, and worms off rocky shorelines, and under boat houses. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs among vegetation beds and under docks. Catfish are good on live bait, stinkbait, and cut bait.

WRIGHT PATMAN: FAIR. Water stained; 51 degrees; 4.27’ high. Largemouth bass are good on slow-moving jigs, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and plastic worms among man-made structures. White bass are good on slabs and spoons. Crappie are fair on jigs within brush piles. Catfish are fair on cut bait, live bait, and stinkbait.

SOUTH

AMISTAD: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 57-59 degrees; 30.59’ low. Largemouth bass are good on topwaters, spinners, and plastic worms with points, drop-offs, and submerged vegetation. Topwater is the best bait mornings and evenings. Catfish are fair on stinkbait and cut bait throughout the reservoir. Baiting holes has increased success. Remember to stay on the Texas side unless you possess a Mexican Fishing License.

CALAVERAS: FAIR. Water stained; 58 degrees. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait, liver, and cut shad. Red drum are slow on live crawfish and tilapia but have shown signs of picking up. Largemouth bass are fair on jigs, plastic worms and spinnerbaits near the dam and warm water. Hybrid striped bass are fair on spoons chicken livers and rattle traps.

CHOKE CANYON: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 57 degrees; 17.79’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on topwater, worms, crankbaits, and spinners fishing points and all vegetation slowly. White bass are fair with minnows moving towards the Frio River. All catfish are very good on larger live bait and cut baits in all water.

CORPUS CHRISTI LAKE: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 61 degrees; 3.48’ low. Largemouth bass are fair using spinnerbaits working surface cover and drops off points. White bass are good on rattletraps and minnows feeding in the Nueces River and outward. Crappie are fair on live minnows along the pier and other structures. Catfish are fair to good on cut bait and cheese bait.

FALCON: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 57 degrees; 36.46’ low. Black bass are good on soft plastic worms, spinners, and topwater lures fishing points flooded vegetation and most structures. Crappie are fair to slow on live bait among submerged structures. Catfish are good on all live bait, including shrimp, shad, and stinkbait. Remember to stay on the Texas side unless you possess a Mexican Fishing License.

MEDINA: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 58-62 degrees; 10.35’ low. Black bass are fair on worms and jigs among creek beds and coves working out from the banks. Crappie are slow with jigs and minnows. White bass are fair on spoons and jigs near the deep points. Striped bass are fair on rattletraps. Smallmouth bass are good on white grubs and jigs. Catfish are fair on live bait, chicken livers and blood baits in the inflow from feeder creeks.

TEXANA: FAIR. Water stained; 58-59 degrees; 5.13’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on jigs, Texas–rigged soft plastics, and spinners near creek mouths and steep drops. Crappie are fair on jigs with creek structures. Catfish are fair to good on stinkbait, cut bait, and live bait. Trotlines are suitable for all species of catfish using live bait.

SOUTHEAST

BRAUNIG: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 58–60 degrees. Largemouth bass are fair on Carolina rigged plastic worms, crankbaits, bass jigs along the dam, and rocky points. Red drum are slow using crawfish and tilapia. Striped bass are fair on jigs and live shad in open water. Catfish are good on live bait and cheese bait.

B.A. STEINHAGEN: GOOD. Water stained; 53 degrees; 0.33’ low. Largemouth bass are good with spinners and crankbaits. The bass have had long active periods every day, and are best fished near the vegetative edges and gaps. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows, and catfish are good on cut and prepped bait.

CONROE: GOOD. Water stained; 59 degrees; 1.97’ low. Largemouth bass are good in the current pre-spawn pattern on jigs, spinners, live shad, and buzzbait in finding submerged ridges. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs with structure. Hybrid striped bass are good in open water with jigs and shad. Catfish are good on stinkbait and cut bait. Sunfish are good with live worms or crickets in shallow water.

GIBBONS CREEK: GOOD. Water stained; 65 degrees; Largemouth bass have been good and have been trophy size in the warm water discharge on worms, crankbaits and spinners. Crappie are good on jigs in the more massive structure. Catfish are good on live bait and liver-flavored prepared bait.

HOUSTON COUNTY: FAIR. Water stained; 60 degrees; 0.23’ high. Black bass are good on worms and crankbaits fishing standing timber, and the man-made fish attractors. You can get the location of the fish attracters on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website. White bass are slow with jigs and spoons in deep drops. Crappie are fair on live minnows seeking cover. Sunfish are consistently good on small crickets, and Powerbait pellets. Catfish are good on live and cut shad along with stinkbait.

LIVINGSTON: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 58-60 degrees; 0.09’ high. Largemouth bass remain good working points going into coves with some vegetation and in creeks and their structures. Working the edges. The best baits are Carolina rigged worms, spinners, and jigs. Striped bass are good on spoons and shad. Crappie are very good on minnows and jigs in the creeks. White bass are good on spoons and Alabama Rigs in the deeper coves. Catfish are fair on live bait and prepped dough balls.

NACONICHE: GOOD. Water slightly stained; 59 degrees. Largemouth bass are good on spinners, and jigs in submerged brush and around timber. Crappie are good on jigs, and crappie minnows under vegetation, and bridge structure. Sunfish are fair on jigs and crickets. Catfish are good on dough balls, cut and live bait.

RAVEN: GOOD. Water stained; 58-60 degrees, Largemouth bass are good among vegetation edges with worms, spinners, and topwater at dusk and dawn. Sunfish are fair on crickets and worms in shallow cover.

SAM RAYBURN: GOOD. Water stained; 53 degrees; 1.82’ low. Largemouth bass are good on crankbaits, spinners and plastic worms working warm water, and ledges White bass are good on minnows and small cranks on humps. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs among deeper brush piles. Catfish are good on live and stinkbait.

TOLEDO BEND: GOOD. Water slightly stained; 53-56 degrees; 6.36’ low. Largemouth bass are good on crankbaits and spinners in shallow water on creek structure and vegetative cover. Crappie are very good in brush piles on jigs and minnows in creeks. Striped bass are fair on rattle traps, and spoons on main lake points and humps. White bass are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on chicken livers and dough bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

PANHANDLE

CISCO: FAIR. Water clear; 54 degrees; 3.30’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on Texas rigged worms and jigs shallow on the eastern side of the lake against the 561 bridge. Sunfish are fair with nightcrawlers or grubs. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows in the shallow cover west and south along with under boat docks. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers, liver, and cut shad all over the lake.

MEREDITH: SLOW. Water stained; 53 degrees; 46.83’ low. Black bass are fair on worms, crankbaits, and jigs. With low water conditions, fish the drops you can find, and your best bet is finding structure near the dam. Walleye are slow on crankbaits and rattletraps. Channel catfish are good on cut bait and live bait.

MILLERS CREEK: GOOD. Water stained; 54 degrees; 1.93’ low. Largemouth bass are good in flooded timber, and submerged trees on jigs, and working vegetation with plastic worms. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs among timber and brush piles. White bass and hybrids are fair. Catfish are good with live, blood, and liver prepared baits.

WEST

ALAN HENRY: FAIR. Water clear 49-50 degrees; 2.45' low. Black bass are good on rigged worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits working timber, and the steep shoreline drops. Crappie are fair on minnows, and jigs fishing the pier and flooded timber. Catfish are fair on live bait and stinkbait.

ARROWHEAD: FAIR. Water stained; 56-58 degrees; 2.09’ low. Largemouth bass are fair fishing boat docks, bridges, and vegetation on Texas rigs, spinners, and jigs working slow and shallow. Crappie are good on live minnows and jigs near the dam, and bridge structure. Catfish are good on punch bait, prepped baits, and shrimp.

COLEMAN: FAIR. Slightly stained. 56 degrees. 3.00’ low. Hybrid stripers are good drift fishing with live bait on the main lake, humps and deep drops. Largemouth bass are fair on topwater early and shallow, spinnerbaits, and plastic worm among standing timber, and ledges. Catfish are fair with stinkbait and cut bait with trotlines.

FORT PHANTOM HILL: GOOD. Water stained; 55 degrees; 2.33’ low. White bass are good with minnows and small deep diving crankbaits fishing with the wind. Largemouth bass are good on jigs and spinners in steep drops and along points. Crappie are good on live minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair at night on cut shad and stinkbait.

HUBBARD CREEK: FAIR. Water stained; 56-58 degrees; 2.74’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on jigs and spinnerbaits in vegetation and standing timber. Crappie are good on live minnows in creeks. White bass are good further out in the same creeks. Catfish are fair on live and cut shad.

NASWORTHY: FAIR. Water Murky 56 degrees. 0.93’ low. Largemouth Bass are fair among the edges of bulrush vegetation with jigs, spinners on points, and crankbaits in deeper structure. Crappie fair under man-made structures on Crappie Minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on ledges and drops. Sunfish need a couple of warm weeks to become more active. Catfish are fair on live and prepped baits throughout the lake.

OAK CREEK: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 55 degrees; 2.10’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on spinners, Carolina rigged worms, and smaller minnows within flooded timber and vegetation. Crappie are fair on live minnows and jigs fishing drops. White bass are fair on Alabama Rigs, and small crankbaits mid-reservoir. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers, live bait, cut bait in most areas on the lake.

O.C. FISHER: FAIR. Water stained 56 Degrees. 37.50’ low. The low water continues to hurt the habitat and numbers of game fish. Largemouth bass are fair on plastic worms, spinners, and jigs in vegetation, and in the smaller drops. Crappie are fair along main lake humps on crappie minnows and jigs. White bass are slow, mid-lake. Catfish are slow with limited structure.

O.H. IVIE: FAIR. Water clear; 55 degrees; 9.96’ low. Largemouth bass are good on Carolina rigged worms, spinners, minnows, and jigs around timber and points working downriver from the dam. Crappie are fair on live minnows and jigs in the timber and are caught at night. Catfish are good on stinkbait, live, and cut bait. White bass are fair mid-lake.

POSSUM KINGDOM: GOOD. Water clear; 48-49 degrees; 0.91’ low. Rainbow Trout are good on nightcrawlers or red wigglers. Largemouth bass are fair on crankbaits, plastic worms and spinnerbaits. Smallmouth bass up to 16 inches, continue to bite well on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. Crappie are good on jigs, and minnows among brush piles and boat docks. White bass are fair on jigs, slabs, and spoons in the same habitat as largemouth. Striped bass are fair on live shad and jigs looking for mid-lake humps. Catfish are good on cut bait, live sunfish, and stinkbait.

SPENCE: FAIR. Water stained; 53-55 degrees; 36.72’ low. Consistent low water has made it difficult to fish largemouth bass. The limited success has come fishing points near the dam and down the main channel of Colorado on topwater, worms, and spinnerbait. White bass are slow. Catfish are fair on live and cut bait.

STAMFORD: FAIR. Water stained; 50 degrees; 1.40’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on Carolina rigged plastic worms and jigs fishing the western and northern banks with standing timber and vegetation from the Stamford marina to the plant. Crappie are good on live minnows and jigs on vertical fishing timber and casting humps. White bass are fair on live shad and slabs. Catfish are fair on live bait and stinkbait.

TWIN BUTTES: FAIR to SLOW. Water stained. 51 degrees. 8.64’ low. Largemouth Bass are fair on Carolina rigged worms, spinners, crankbaits, minnows, and live worms. The best areas of the lake are underwater vegetation and on humps. White bass are slow with limited open water. Crappie are fair to slow on minnows and jigs in creek channels, and among structure. Catfish are fair on live prepped and cut bait with limited numbers being caught.

WHITE RIVER: SLOW. Water stained; 52 degrees; 22.10’ low. Drought conditions are still in place. Please check boat ramp access. Largemouth bass are fair to being slow looking for bass. Their habitat continues to elusive with low water. Fish points, shallow brush and from banks with small spinners, mid-depth crankbaits, trolling topwater, and weighted rigged worms. Crappie are slow on live minnows and jigs. Walleye are slow. Catfish are fair on live bait, cut bait, and stinkbait close to the White River Marina.

COASTAL

SABINE LAKE: Overall conditions: Good. 63-64 degrees. Water conditions: Clear Sabine Lake brown. Visibility around three feet in most parts of the lake and slightly stained up both the Sabine and Neches rivers. Speckled trout are most of the catchable. They are found in the northern reaches of Sabine Lake right now. Fish are either nearshore or farther out in the deeper parts of the lake holding near mud or mixed mud shell bottoms. There will be some schools of trout in the Intracoastal Waterway or mouths of both rivers based on the proper salinity. We have not had too much rain of late so some trout could be several miles up the rivers. Best lures right now are Mirro Lure Corkys, Mirrodin, Catch 5, Catch 2000, Borboleta Lele, and Hot Rod. Always keep a rod rigged with a jig and soft plastic such as a Down South Lure or Mirro Lure Provoker. White is a good color on most days but when the sun is bright sometimes the more flash the better. Redfish can be found in the same general areas as trout right now. Mud shell or mud bottom is the best. The same lures that are working for trout will work for redfish. Some reds are liking fresh or frozen dead shrimp on a Carolina Rig or a lead head jig. Flounder are in ledges near deep water in the rivers or the deeper bayous. Best lures are a lead head jig and Gulp or live mud minnows. If using a jig and a soft plastic tip, attach a piece of dead shrimp for added attraction.

PORT MANSFIELD: GOOD. 66 degrees. Trout and reds are good on the flats in 3 to 5 feet most being smaller but keepers. Trout and reds are also good over swallow areas of mud bottom were you find better quality and using KWigglers paddle and willow tail gulp and live shrimp. Offshore is still good for snapper when weather permits.

TRINITY BAY: VERY GOOD. 61 degrees. Speckled trout are good on live shrimp and soft plastics around the causeway. Redfish are good in the marsh on live mullet, soft plastics, and shrimp and are along the shoreline. Sheepshead are very good on live shrimp.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: GOOD. 58 degrees. Flounder bite is good on live shrimp. Redfish and black drum are good in the channels and drop-offs on live baits. Speckled trout are good near Oyster Bayou. Catfish are good on cut bait.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: GOOD. 58-62 degrees. Redfish and Black drum are excellent near the south shoreline coves. Flounder are good on live shrimp. Speckled trout are excellent on shrimp under popping cork or fatboys in deeper water. Catfish are good on cut bait.

TEXAS CITY: VERY GOOD. 60-63 degrees. Redfish are very good on soft plastics or live mullet. Flounder is fair on live shrimp or minnow. Speckled trout are good on slow sinking mullet imitating plugs. Very early hours of the morning and late afternoon will be the pinnacle fishing times. Black drum are good on whole shad.

FREEPORT: GOOD. 59-61 degrees. Water clarity is excellent. Black drum are excellent. Redfish will be found during the mid-day/afternoon in shallow mudflats and are good on soft plastics or natural baits for the experienced and finger mullet or shrimp for the more inexperienced. Speckled trout bite are very good on mullet or pinfish. Sheepshead are good on shrimp and will be found around the jetties. Flounder are good around the San Luis Pass bridge and are good on mullet. Bull reds are fair at the mouth of the Brazos river on cut menhaden baits.

PORT ARANSAS: GOOD. 63 degrees. Flounder are fair on live mullet along the marsh. Redfish are good on shrimp, KWigglers paddle tail, and are found in schools. Speckled trout are decent on shrimp and top waters in the shallow water in the afternoon warmth. Black drum are fair on shrimp or soft plastics.

ROCKPORT: FAIR. 61-62 degrees. Redfish are fair due to cold temperatures- the ones you find will be in the shallow warmer water. Trout are fair drifting and wading over hard sand with shell pockets on live bait. Flounder are fair on live finger mullet. High winds and cold temperatures have made this past week very challenging.

CORPUS CHRISTI: GOOD. 63 degrees. Redfish are good on cut mullet and shrimp around Bob Hall pier. Speckled Trout are good on Texas Rattler jigs near Ward Island. Flounder are good on minnow or squid or jig. Black Drum are fair on shrimp or crab on sinkers near piers and jetties and best around Laguna Madre.

SOUTH PADRE: GOOD. 66-67 degrees. Redfish are good around mud boils on live shrimp. Speckled trout are good on the flats on cut mullet and are in shallower water in the warm afternoons and the muddy flats along the south bay. Black drum are good on shrimp or crab

EAST MATAGORDA BAY: GOOD. 64 degrees. Speckled trout are good on live shrimp under popping cork and soft plastics around the north shore reefs. The bigger trout are on this side. Red fish are very good near the south shoreline on live mullet, soft plastics and topwater in the warmer, shallow water. Flounder are good on shrimp and will be under birds. Black drum are fair on soft plastics or blue crab.

WEST MATAGORDA BAY: GOOD. 64 degrees. Black drum are fair on blue crab or soft plastics. Speckled trout are good on live shrimp under popping cork and soft plastics along the flats around mullet. Redfish are good in the marsh on live mullet, soft plastics and topwater. The flounder bite is fair on down south plastic in red or white color. The southern shoreline still seems to be producing the best results.

PORT O’CONNOR: GOOD. 61 degrees. Black drum are excellent on blue crab, shrimp, or soft plastics. Trout are good on a combination of live or fresh baits such as shrimp or crab in the shallow sand bars. They are also found at the dropoffs of the ICW and around seadrift flats and the lagoons. Redfish are excellent on live shrimp. Flounder are good at the end of the jetties on minnow. Sheepshead are excellent near the jetty on live shrimp.

BAFFIN BAY: GOOD. 64 degrees. Redfish are good in the sandflats on soft plastics. Topwater can work on warm sunny days in between cold fronts and on live bait following the mullet. Flounder are good on jigs or minnow. Speckled trout are good on shrimp in shallow water near sand. Slow sinking artificial lures are the best artificial choice for the wade fisherman.

PORT ISABEL: GOOD. 64 degrees. Speckled trout are good in the shallow grass flats. Sheepshead are good on crab. Flounder are good on minnows. Jack Crevalle are good on live mullet. Redfish are good on shrimp and will be found in the sand flats in the southern end of Laguna Madre. Black drum are good on dead shrimp on a jig head, and they are schooling in deep waters and found near mud bottoms. Snook will be found in dense concentrations near the port..
