The city of McAllen is urging drivers to avoid 23th Street under the I-2 bridge due to a rollover accident involving a tractor-trailer that will delay traffic.

The tractor trailer rolled over and is stuck under the bridge, city spokeswoman Xochitl Mora said.

The McAllen fire and police departments are at the scene directing traffic, but “motorists should expect extreme delays in the area and are being asked to avoid the area if at all possible,” the release stated.
