EDINBURG – The fall semester is about to begin for students at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. The school is currently on accreditation probation.

Last December, UTRGV was put on probation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

“We’re finalizing our written report to SACSCOC. After that, they will do an on-site visit in October and then we will wait for their ruling in December,” said UTRGV spokesperson Patrick Gonzales.

Gonzales said their enrollment numbers and financial aid have not been affected since the probation.

The university is working to fix all problems SACSCOC presented them with.

At this time, they’re still accredited.
