Valley Schools Delaying Classes Due to Freeze Warning

WESLACO – The following school districts in the Rio Grande Valley have delayed classes on Wednesday, Nov. 14 due to the freeze warning in effect for Cameron, Hidalgo, Willacy and Starr counties.   

Edcouch-Elsa ISD: Classes will begin at 9 a.m. Staff to report 30 minutes later than regular time. 

Mission CISD: Bus pick-up will be delayed two hours, elementary classes begin at 9:45 a.m., middle school classes begin at 10 a.m., high school classes begin at 10:15 a.m.

All extra-curricular activities have been canceled for Tuesday, Nov. 13 and all morning activities will be canceled on Nov. 14. 

Monte Alto ISD: Classes begin at 9 a.m., bus routes will run at 7:30 a.m.

Vanguard Academy: All campuses in Edinburg, Alamo and Pharr will begin classes at 10 a.m. Staff to report at 9 a.m.  

Our Lady of Sorrows School: Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Students must be present by 10 a.m. 

Immaculate Conception School (Rio Grande City): Classes begin at 9 a.m.
