RAYMONDVILLE – Willacy County is working to restore a 99-year-old courthouse.

County Judge Aurelio Guerra says the effort began in 2009 and as the time has lapsed, the courthouse has deteriorated even more.

He says pumps are needed in order to take out water from the facility.

"Now, the objective is to get total restoration monies, which is, right now, to the tune of about $8.5 million to do so. Now the other grant that we got selected also is for $50,000 and that is to update the master plan," says Guerra.
