Woman Escapes House Fire in Pharr

PHARR – A Pharr woman is thankful she and her dog escaped safely from a house fire.

The fire happened at a home on E Nannette Street in Pharr early Thursday morning.

The elderly woman tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS at first, she thought it was coming from her kitchen.

“Well, my neighbors saw a lot of smoke and he came and told me my house was on fire,” she says.

Moments later firefighters arrived and extinguished the flames quickly.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
