McAllen code enforcement visits 150 restaurants to monitor compliance with COVID-19 regulations

The city of McAllen dispatched code enforcement teams to 150 restaurants over the weekend, reviewing compliance with COVID-19 regulations.
Assistant City Manager Michelle Rivera said the code enforcement teams didn't find any major problems. The city issued just two citations.
"There were two citations issued. One was to an employee who had previously been warned about a face mask," Rivera said. "Another was to someone who had an expired permit but, other than that, the occupancy numbers were within the ranges that they’re supposed to be within."
