Mission Veteran's Itzel De Leon becomes the first water polo player from the RGV to commit play at the next level.
She's taking her talents to Salem University.
De Leon took the Lady Patriots to three consecutive District Championships and is a two time MVP as well as a first team all district player.
"It feels good. I'm really happy to be able to say that because I've always talked about it. I said it two years ago that I would be the next to sign but for water polo."
