25-year-old woman charged in fatal McAllen crash
UPDATE: A grand jury declined to indict Guerra on an intoxication manslaughter charge following her arrest. Guerra was instead indicted on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. On Jan. 10, 2019, Guerra was sentenced to five years probation and 80 hours of community service after accepting a plea deal.
MCALLEN – A 25-year-old driver involved in a McAllen fatal crash is behind bars, police say.
Valerie Elizabeth Guerra faces intoxication manslaughter and possession of a controlled substance charges.
The crash happened Thursday after 2:30 a.m. near N Main St. and W Pecan Ave. Police said a vehicle collided with a motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 31-year-old Robert Perales III of Donna, was killed.
