SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – Three beach access points at South Padre Island will shut down temporarily due to high tides until further notice.

Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino issued out a notice Tuesday morning restricting access to pedestrian and vehicular traffic at the following access locations:

  • Beach Access 5

  • Beach Access 6

  • Boca Chica Beach

The public is asked to follow the advice of lifeguards, and the flag advisory system.

Other county beach access areas, including Isla Blanca County Park and Andy Bowie County Park, remain open.
