RIO GRANDE CITY – The first round of the girls basketball playoffs concluded Tuesday night with five more Valley teams punching their area round tickets. Pace outlasted Laredo Martin 72-63 in overtime to advance to the next round. Harlingen handled PSJA Memorial 48-37.

Brownsville Veterans bested Rio Grande City 49-45. Hidalgo went on the road to knock off Aransas Pass 55-51. La Villa defeated Three Rivers 48-32.
