PALMVIEW – A sewer project is causing big problems for a family in Palmview. They say construction is making it harder for them to protect their pets.

The project is expected to benefit Palmview residents by taking them off septic tanks.

In the course for the project, a row of backyards was acquired and turned into a dirt path. The price, some residents would have to temporarily give them up.

For Ernesto Herrera, a temporary fence was put up by Agua Special Utility District behind his property. He says the fence was flimsy and neighborhood dogs are able to get in.

Last week, his dog, Oogi, got out and was gone for a day. His pet returned with injuries on his face and paws.
