DPS Mobile App Locates Sex Offenders
WESLACO – With Halloween being just one day away, the Department of Public Safety wants the public to be safe while out trick-or-treating.
DPS Lt. Johhny Hernandez said the key to staying safe this Halloween is to plan ahead.
The state of Texas has a mobile application, Texas DPS, that lets the user plan know where registered sex offenders reside.
“It’s very important parents download it, so when they go trick-or-treating they know the area of where these sex offenders live at,” he said.
Hernandez said finding them is just a click away. All you have to do is go to the app and click the search option under the sex offenders tab.
