Flood Victims without Insurance Face Out-of-Pocket Expenses
MERCEDES – Flood insurance is not a requirement, but floods victims who don’t have insurance may end up with more expenses.
We spoke with one resident who doesn’t have flood insurance and must now pay for damages out of pocket.
He says he’s now living on the second story of his house because the first story is a total loss.
KRGV’s Christian Von Preysing spoke with an insurance agent about different options available.
He says homeowners or renters insurance doesn’t typically cover flood damage. He adds the price will depend on the location.
