Harlingen South's Tony Cantu, a starting point guard for the Hawks, signed to play at Missouri Valley College.

Cantu earned the 32-5A MVP award and was named to the 32-5A All Defensive Team, the RGVBCA First Team and the TABC All-Region Team. He was also a four-time 32-5A All-Academic selection.

During his time at Harlingen South, Cantu helped the team win two district championships and one bi-district championship. The Hawks also made it to the area round, regional semifinals and a Sweet 16 appearance.

"It means the world to me, it's surreal, I can't believe we're here to this day," Cantu said. "Everything I have done had led up to this moment and I'm just going to live in the moment. It's a community over there and like everyone is so supportive and behind you and I'm going with other valley people so it should be a good experience."
