FALFURRIAS – Questions still remain one month after a fire broke out at a hotel in Falfurrias.                     

About a dozen fire departments responded due to the lack of manpower and equipment at the Falfurrias Volunteer Fire Department.

KRGV’s Carolina Cruz spoke with the city manager about the building permit that approved even though there wasn’t enough fire protection.

City Manager David Flores Jr. says he’s working on city ordinances that are outdated and could be a hazard for the city.

“Going forward, we've got to look at that. How can our volunteer fire department be asked to protect something that they can't protect themselves without the use of mutual aid?” says Flores.
