ALAMO - An Alamo man is facing murder charges after fatally hitting a 53-year-old man with his car.

The hit-and-run happened on the 1400 block of Lila Street in San Juan on Friday.

San Juan Police said Johnny Gomez Hernandez fled the scene after the incident.

Investigators said witnesses told them Hernandez was arguing with Marcelino Tijerina before he struck him with his car.

Tijerina was flown to a San Antonio hospital where he later died.
