HARLINGEN – Police said leads on the investigation of a Harlingen attorney who went missing three months ago have stopped.

Harlingen police Commander Carlos Cantu told CHANNEL 5 NEWS the search for Ernesto Gonzalez continues.

He said there’s been no information on his whereabouts and he has not contacted police to notify them that he’s safe.

Cantu said although they haven’t had any reliable leads in the case, they did get some of the phone records they requested, which are currently under review.

“We requested phone records from friends, family, acquaintances, business records,” he said. “We have some of that information back but not all of it. So, as it comes in we’re analyzing that information to give us an idea as to who he was speaking with or where he was at the days leading up to his disappearance.”

Gonzalez’s law office on F Street in Harlingen remains closed.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts or who may have spoken to Gonzalez is encouraged to call Harlingen police at 956-425-8477.
