Over $1.6M of Alleged Heroin Seized at Pharr Bridge Cargo Facility
PHARR – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized around 40 pounds of alleged heroin found hidden within a shipment of tomatoes.
The bust happened at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility on March 28 after a commercial trailer was referred to a secondary station, according to a CBP press release sent out Monday.
CBP officers say upon inspection, they discovered 76 packages of alleged heroin.
The estimated value of the drugs is over $1.6 million.
The drugs were seized.
