Public’s Help Needed to Locate Missing Alton Woman

ALTON – An Alton woman with special needs is missing. Her family is asking for the public’s help to find her.

The family told CHANNEL 5 NEWS they haven’t seen Lydia Magdalena Gomez for a couple of days.

Gomez, 29, has a mental capacity of a 7-year-old.She suffers from depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. 

The family said they already filed a missing persons report with the Alton Police Department.

Gomez is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighs around 200 pounds with brown eyes and light brown hair.

She was last seen wearing pink sweatpants, an Aeropostale shirt and Puma shoes.

Gregoria Rios, Gomez's mother, said they are devastated and worried she could be in a very dangerous situation.

"I'm very worried. I don't know what to think. I don't think any mother should be put through this. I haven't gotten any sleep," she said.
