BROWNSVILLE – Students at a Brownsville school worked together to help animals rescued in Cameron County.

Students at Episcopal Day School heard about the dogs discovered in a warehouse last Monday.

Their teachers, Ruby Abete and Jackie Armstrong, say their second graders rallied the entire school.

"They're the ones that have been at the forefront and they got the other students motivated," says Abete.

The second graders loaded bags and bags of dog food onto a truck.

The food is all going to the Cameron County Animal Shelter.
