WATCH LIVE: Cameron County sheriff provides details into arrest of department employee
An employee with the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office was arraigned on Thursday on multiple charges.
The employee, identified as Eduardo Antonio Villarreal, was charged with bribery, bringing a prohibited substance into a correctional facility, and abuse of capacity. His bond was set at $30,000.
In a news release, Sheriff Manuel Treviño said the employee was arrested on Wednesday.
A press conference will be held following the arraignment, where further details will be provided.
