St. Joseph Academy's Johnny Cardona signed with St. Thomas University in Miami on Tuesday afternoon.

Cardona helped lead his team to the 2024 state championship in TAPPS Division II. This past season, the team advanced to the state semifinal.

Cardona also earned individual honors as a first team All-District striker and made second team All-State.

"It feels amazing," Cardona said. "I get to sign in front of the people that love and support me, and I wouldn't be able to do it without them. It's great seeing all my hard work finally paying off. It's a great program. A great team. Great coaching staff. The school is great and it's hard to say no to Miami."
