Teen Arrested at Progreso Bridge after Officers Find Drugs, Gun
PROGRESO – A 17-year-old was arrested after trying to cross into the Rio Grande Valley at the Progreso Bridge with a loaded handgun and controlled prescription medication.
The incident happened Friday morning.
The gun was found hidden under the teen’s clothing at secondary inspection.
The teen also had 12 bottles of alprazolam, a generic version of Xanax.
The loaded handgun and drugs were confiscated.
The teen was turned over to Weslaco police.
