The weekly fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for Oct. 7 and also available on the internet at https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/recreational/fishreport.phtml:

CENTRAL

AUSTIN: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 82 degrees; 0.67' low. Largemouth bass are fair on chatter baits, drop shots, and finesse worms near boat docks, bluffs, and rocky shorelines. There is an early morning bite with topwater and chuggers on points, drop-offs, and rocky ledges. Sunfish are good on earthworms and live crickets along ledges, boat docks, and brush. Catfish are good punch bait in 14-18’.

BASTROP: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 79 degrees. Largemouth bass are good fishing creeks ledges and submerged timber on white spinners, small crankbaits, brown or green craws, and drop shots. Crappie are fair on minnows in brush piles and standing timber in 14-25’. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut bait and live bait.

BELTON: GOOD. Water clear; 74 degrees; 0.08' high. Black bass are slow near timber, creek ledges, and brushy shorelines on crankbaits and Carolina-rigged plastic worms. White bass are right on the main lake flats, humps, and drop offs with jigging spoons and slabs in 20-35’. Hybrid stripers are good with live bait in the main lake from 22-35’. Topwater plugs, crankbaits, and swimbaits are effective with surfacing schools of hybrids and white bass. Crappie are good on minnows in brush piles in 15-28’. Catfish are good on cut bait and punch bait.

BROWNWOOD: GOOD. Water clear; 76 degrees; 1.66' low. Largemouth bass are fair with shad colored crankbaits, jigs, and plum or green Carolina rigged plastic worms in 15-25’ near drop-offs and standing timber. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in brush piles and timber near a creek channel. White bass and hybrids are good on live bait and slabs in the main lake near humps, drop-offs, and flats. Catfish are good on punch bait and live bait in 10-20’ near baited areas.

BUCHANAN: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 75-78 degrees; 2.88' low. Largemouth bass are good with purple finesse worms, white skirted jigs, and medium-size crankbaits working along flats, secondary points, rock ledges, and the drop-offs. Striped bass are fair along the river channel with live bait and trolling in 25-35’. White bass are good on slabs and jigging spoons when fishing deeper water in the main lake off points, drop-offs and flats. Use sonar to locate schools of baitfish and feeding fish. Crappie are fair on minnows in 16-28’ fishing timber and brush piles. Channel catfish have been good on punch bait.

CANYON LAKE: EXCELLENT. Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 3.56' low. Striper fishing is good on main lake humps, drop-offs, and river channel with live bait. White bass are excellent on humps flats and drop-offs with chartreuse slabs and jigging spoons. Look for birds diving over feeding schools. Largemouth bass are good with diving crankbaits, shaky heads, and wacky-rigged worms near docks, timber, and rocky drop-offs. Smallmouth bass are good on grubs and small cranks in 9-15’ along rock ledges and steep rocky shorelines. Catfish are excellent with prepared baits and cut bait. Crappie are fair with live minnows near rocky drop-offs, brush piles, and timber.

FAYETTE: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 79 degrees. Largemouth bass are fair on crankbaits, drop shots, and bladed spinnerbaits. Sunfish are good on worms and live crickets around bank ledges and structure. Catfish are good on punch bait near baited areas.

GRANBURY: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 0.01' low. Largemouth bass are good on shad colored or white crankbaits and bladed spinnerbaits as well as Texas-rigged plastic worms in 13-28’ near boathouses, submerged timber, and rock ledges. Crappie fishing is fair around brush piles and boat docks with minnows. Catfishing is good with earthworms or prepared bait. White bass are hitting using slabs, jigging spoons, and swimbaits. Stripers are good with live bait or trolling with crankbaits or swimbaits along the main lake channel in 20-35'.

GRANGER: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 1.12' low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, Texas-rigged plastic craws, and smaller crankbaits near rock banks, creek channels, and stumps. Crappie are good on minnows, and jigs tipped with minnows on brush piles, creek ledges with cover and timber near a drop off in 16-26’. White bass are fair on slabs in 20-30' near main lake humps and drop-offs. Catfish are good on cut bait and live bait. Yellow cats are fair on live perch.

LIMESTONE: GOOD. Water clear; 74 degrees; 0.15' low. Largemouth bass are good on long plastic worms, crankbaits, and drop shots along ledges, creek channels, and off main lake points with a slow presentation. White bass are good with slabs and live bait fishing drop-offs and humps in the main lake in 20-30’. Crappie are good on minnows around brush piles and submerged timber. Catfish are good on cut bait or live baits. Flatheads are more consistent with live bait.

LBJ: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 78 degrees; 0.65' low. Black bass are fair on root beer plastic worms, spinners, and crankbaits near docks, creeks, and drop-offs. Crappie are good on minnows around brush piles and docks. White bass are fair over main lake points, flats, and humps in 20-35’ with slabs and jigging spoons. Catfish are good on punch bait in 15-25’.

NAVARRO MILLS: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 0.12' low. Crappie are fair on minnows around the marina, brush piles, and in standing timber in 15-28’. Catfish are good with prepared bait and live bait. White bass are fair on slabs and jigging spoons in 20-30’. Black bass are fair with Senkos, jigs, and finesse worms near docks, drop-offs, and timber.

PROCTOR: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 0.04' high. Largemouth bass are good on Texas rigged worms and craws, jigs, and shad like crankbaits in submerged timber, creek channels, and rocky shorelines. Hybrid stripers are good with live bait in the main lake around 22-35’. Crappie are good with minnows and jigs in 14-28’ in standing timber and brush piles. Catfish remain good on prepared bait and cut bait.

SOMERVILLE: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 78-80 degrees; 1.86' low. White bass and hybrids are good with slabs and jigging spoons in 25-35’ on main lake flats, deep channel ledges, and humps. Crappie are fair on live minnows in brush piles and flooded timber in 18-25’. Catfish are good with live bait and punch bait in 15-25’. Largemouth bass are good with maroon, or plum Texas-rigged plastic worms fished slowly, shad like crankbaits and spinnerbaits near the creek ledges, drop-offs, rocky shorelines, and flooded timber.

STILLHOUSE HOLLOW: GOOD. Water stained; 76 degrees; 3.07' high. Black bass are good on white jigs and red or plum Texas-rigged soft plastic craws working brush piles, rock bluffs, and submerged timber. Smallmouth bass are good with plastic grubs and craws and small crankbaits near rocky banks, ledges, and drop-offs. Crappie are fair on minnows in brush piles and standing timber in 14-28’. White bass are good on slabs and jigs off main lake points, humps, drop-offs, and along the dam. Catfish are good with punch bait. Blue cats are fair with live bait near brush piles.

TRAVIS: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 83 degrees; 19.37' low. Largemouth bass are good with crankbaits, drop shots, and spinners near boat docks and marinas, rock ledges, and drop-offs. White bass are fair with jigging spoons and slabs working river channel ledges, and main lake drop-offs and humps. Trolling is effective with swimbaits. Striper action along the main river channel is good with live bait and heavy jigging spoons. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows in 15-25’ near docks, marinas, and rock ledges. Catfish are good on live bait and prepared baits in 10-20’.

WALTER E. LONG: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 76 degrees. Largemouth bass are fair on swimbaits and worms near timber, humps, and drop-offs. Hybrid stripers are good with live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows in 14-24’ near brush piles or standing timber. Catfish are good on cut bait and prepared bait. Sunfish are good on worms and crickets.

WACO: GOOD. Water clear; 75 degrees; 0.24' low. Largemouth bass are good on Senkos, swimbaits, jigs, and drop-shot plastic worms along the river channel, bridge pilings, and drop-offs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs fishing brush piles and structure around 20’. Sunfish are good on cutworms or live crickets. Channel and blue catfish are good on punch bait.

WHITNEY: EXCELLENT. Water lightly stained; 73-76 degrees; 1.10' low. Black bass are good on secondary points, deeper creeks ledges, grass lines, and weed beds on plastic worms, smaller crankbaits, and silver spoons. White bass are excellent on the main lake with jigging spoons and slabs. Stripers are good trolling swim baits along the main lake drop-offs and humps in 15-40’. Watch for diving birds working the feeding schools of White bass and Stripers at times. Crappie are good with jigs tipped with minnows in 14-25’ timber near creek channels and brush piles. Catfish are fair on punch bait.

NORTHEAST

ARLINGTON: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 74 degrees; 3.71' low. Largemouth bass are fair on crankbaits, craws, and finesse plastic worms. Crappie are good near boat docks and timber on minnows. Catfish are good on punch baits in 12-18’.

ATHENS: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 74 degrees; 0.35' high. Largemouth bass are fair on shad colored crankbaits, bladed spinners, and Texas-rigged plastic worms working the drop-offs, brush piles, and flooded timber. Crappie are good with minnows in standing timber and boat docks. Catfish are good on prepared bait. Sunfish are good on cutworms and crickets.

BENBROOK: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 4.61' low. Largemouth bass are fair fishing swimbaits, jigs, and plastic worms near rocky shorelines, ridges, drop-offs, and humps. Crappie are good on minnows fishing structure and brush piles in 15-25’. Hybrid striped bass are fair with slabs and live bait. White bass are good with slabs on the lake points, flats, and humps. Watch for diving birds to mark schools of feeding fish. Catfish are good with punch bait and live bait over baited areas.

BOB SANDLIN: GOOD. Water clear; 74 degrees; 0.54 low. Black bass are good on drop shots, crankbaits, and long Texas-rigged plastic worms in 18-28’ near deep water humps, flats, and boat docks with some bass caught in 3-10’ early. Crappie are good on minnows in brush piles, bridges, and creek intersections in 15-25’. Catfish are good on live bait and punch bait in 12-25' near baited holes.

BRIDGEPORT: GOOD. Water clear; 73-77 degrees; 2.32' low. Black bass are good on jigs, crankbaits and root beer or watermelon red Texas-rigged plastic worms in 12-18’ fishing deeper docks, main lake points with near rip rap, drop-offs, and secondary points. There is an early topwater bite with chatter baits and jerk baits in 3-8’. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs fishing bridges, timber, and brush piles. White bass are fair on chartreuse slabs on main lake drop-offs, flats, and channels. Hybrid stripers are good on main lake humps and points with live bait. Catfish are good on cut bait and prepared bait in 12-20’.

CADDO: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 74 degrees; 0.64' high. Largemouth bass are good in shallow water near trees, stumps, and grass beds fishing plastic frogs, poppers, chuggers, skirted jigs in 3-5’. Texas-rigged plastic worms and crankbaits are productive in deeper water near timber and vegetation lines in 4-10’. Crappie are fair on minnows near brush piles and timber edges in 14-25’. White bass are fair on jigs and slabs in the main lake. Chain pickerel are slow. Catfish are good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers in 12-20’ fishing baited holes near channels and timber edges.

CEDAR CREEK: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 0.32' low. Largemouth bass are good working topwater plugs and jerk baits very early on creek ledges, main lake points, and near boat docks. Shaky heads, black or purple plastic worms, and crankbaits fished in deeper water near boat docks, brush piles, and timber are productive later in the day. Hybrids and sand bass are being caught off main lake points and humps with slabs and live bait. Crappie are good with jigs and minnows in brush piles, boat docks, and bridges in 15-28’. Catfish are good in 12-25’.

COOPER: GOOD. Water clear; 75 degrees; 2.99' low. Largemouth bass are good on drop shots, medium-size crankbaits, and skirted jigs in 12-25’. The white bass and hybrids are fair in 25-35’ with live bait, slabs, and jigging spoons over humps, flats edges, and near main lake drop-offs. Crappie are fair with minnows on brush piles and timber near creek channels. Catfish are good on cut bait and prepared bait in 14-25’.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 72 degrees; 1.21' low. Black bass are fair fishing wacky worms and crankbaits near docks or timber. White bass are good with slabs fishing humps, flats, and drop-offs. Crappie are good on minnows between 15-25’ working docks, submerged brush, and standing timber. Catfish are good on fresh cut bait and punch bait.

FORK: FAIR. Water stained; 73 degrees; 1.66' low. Largemouth bass are slow on slowly fished finesse worms and jigs near standing flooded timber, points, and drop-offs. White and yellow bass are fair in deeper water with slabs and jigging spoons. Crappie are slow on minnows in 18-25’ in brush piles and standing timber. Catfish are fair on punch bait in 12-24’.

GRAHAM: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 74 degrees; 0.47' low. Largemouth bass are good on Carolina-rigged worms, jigs, and crankbaits in timber and near flats with drop-offs, secondary points, and creek channels. Crappie are good on minnows in 14-24’ standing timber and brush piles. White bass are good on slabs and jigging spoons. Hybrid stripers are good on live bait in 20-35’. Catfish are good on cut shad, punch bait, and live bait.

GRAPEVINE: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 0.26' low. Largemouth bass are good on medium-sized crankbaits, Texas-rigged craws, and finesse worms in brush piles, standing timber, and rocky points. White bass are good in 23-35’ with slabs near main lake humps, flats, and drop-offs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in marinas and near submerged structure. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

JACKSONVILLE: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 0.02' high. Largemouth bass are fair with finesse worms, spinners, and medium crankbaits in deeper water near docks, riprap, and brush piles. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in 14-25’ around submerged structure and brush piles. Catfish are good on cut shad and punch bait.

JOE POOL: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 74 degrees; 0.67' low. Largemouth bass are good fishing wacky worms fished slowly in 6-12’. Shad like crankbaits and spinners along channel edges, mouths, and rocky shorelines are effective as well. Crappie are fair beneath bridges and structure on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on punch bait.

LAKE O’ THE PINES: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 74 degrees; 0.55' low. Largemouth bass are fair on plastic worms, football jigs, and crankbaits in 8-20’. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows in the standing timber areas along the creek channel, bridges, and brush piles in 15-28’. Catfish are good with cut bait or punch bait.

LAVON: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 74 degrees; 1.12' low. Crappie are fair on minnows or jigs fishing 15-25’ over brush piles and bridges. White bass are good in the 20-30’ with slabs and swimbaits. Look for birds diving over feeding schools of white bass. Black bass are fair on craws, wacky worms, and crankbaits in 12-24’. Catfish are good on prepared bait in 14-25’.

LEWISVILLE: EXCELLENT. Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 0.31' low. Black bass are fair fishing points, humps, drop-offs, and standing timber with the crankbaits, plastic worms or creatures, and bladed jigs. White bass are excellent on white or chartreuse slabs and jigging spoons in 20-35’. Look for birds diving over feeding schools of white bass. Crappie are good on minnows around brush piles and standing timber. Catfish are good on live bait and prepared baits.

MARTIN CREEK: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 1.83' low. Largemouth bass are fair on crankbaits and Texas-rigged worms in 8-18’. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs in 12-28’ in timber and brush piles. Catfish are good on punch bait in 12-25’.

PALESTINE: GOOD. Water clear; 75 degrees; 0.06' high. Largemouth bass are good working Texas-rigged worms, spoons, and crankbaits near boat docks and rip rap. Crappie are good on minnows or jigs tipped with minnows around bridges and timber in 15-25’. Hybrid stripers are good on live bait and curly tail swimbaits in 25-35’. White bass are good on slabs and jigging spoons. Look for birds diving over feeding schools. Catfish are good on punch baits and live minnows.

PALO PINTO: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 0.44' low. Largemouth bass are good on points with ledges, flats with a drop-off, and brush piles with Texas-rigged plastic worms or craws, diving crankbaits, and skirted jigs. Plastic frogs and topwater plugs are working early on grass flats and vegetation edges. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows near boat docks and brush piles in 16-28’. White bass are good on slabs and jigging spoons near main lake points, drop-offs, and flats. Hybrid bass are fair on live shad in 20-35’. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut bait.

RAY HUBBARD: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 74 degrees; 1.05' low. Largemouth bass are good on finesse worms, crankbaits, and football jigs in timber, near rocky banks, ledges, and drop-offs. White bass are good fishing chrome slabs and white jigging spoons on main lake flats, humps, and ridges in 18-28’. Crappie are good near bridges, brush piles, and submerged timber in with minnows. Catfish are good on punch bait in 16-25’.

RAY ROBERTS: FAIR; Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 0.30' low. Largemouth bass are fair on Carolina-rigged worms, diving crankbaits, and white spinners in 16-26’ near timber, riprap, and channel edges. There is an early and late topwater bite on points with a ledge or drop off. White bass are good in 20-40’ on slabs and jigging spoons near main lake flats, humps, and drop-offs. Crappie are fair on minnows in brush piles between 18-28’. Catfish are good on punch baits over haunted holes.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 72-76 degrees; 0.45' low. Largemouth bass are fair on swimbaits, lipless crankbaits, chatter baits, and finesse worms fishing near boat docks, rocky points, vegetation edges, and flats drop-offs. White bass and hybrids are fair on slabs and jigging spoons or deeper near main lake points, flats, and humps. Crappie are good on minnows or jigs tipped with minnows on bridge pilings and in brush piles. Catfish are good on punch bait and live perch. Bream are good on live crickets or dough bait near boat docks and rocky shorelines.

SQUAW CREEK: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 0.21' high. Catfishing is fair in baited areas using prepared baits and cut bait. The largemouth bass fishing is fair around structure on jigs, spinners, and crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs in 17-25’ in standing timber and brush piles.

SULPHUR SPRINGS: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 2.53' low. Largemouth bass are good on plastic worms and brush hogs near brush piles, drop-offs, and flooded timber. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs in 18-28’ near brush piles and standing timber. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait in 10-20’.

TAWAKONI: EXCELLENT. Water lightly stained; 73-76 degrees; 1.33' low. Catfish are excellent on punch bait and cut bait. Largemouth bass are good on crankbaits, Senkos, jigs, and swimbaits. White bass and hybrid stripers are excellent on live bait and slabs with some fish schooling on the surface. Use sonar to locate fish in deeper water near drop-offs, large flats, and humps in the main lake. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs around brush piles, docks, and bridge pilings.

TEXOMA: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 3.02' low. Striped bass and white bass are excellent on live bait, swimbaits, and topwater baits when fish are near the surface. Diving birds are marking feeding schools on the surface throughout the lake. Use sonar to mark schools along the river channel and flats. Largemouth bass are good fishing black or purple Texas-rigged plastic worms and diving crankbaits in 16-28’ with some fish moving into shallow water in the 8-12’ range. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs by boathouses, timber and brush piles in 15-25’. Catfish are good on cut bait and punch bait.

TYLER: GOOD. Water clear; 75 degrees; 0.09' low. Black bass are good on plastic worms, skirted football jigs, and crankbaits fishing deeper docks, timber, and vegetation edges. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in brush piles, structure, and timber in 18-25’. Catfish are good on punch bait and live bait. White bass are good in 18-30’ on jigging spoons and slabs.

WEATHERFORD: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 76 degrees; 1.09' low. Largemouth bass are fair on chatter baits, crankbaits, and Carolina rigged plastic craws near rocky shorelines, timber, and brush. White bass are good in 20-35’ with slabs and jigging spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows around docks, marinas, and submerged cover. Catfish are good on live bait.

WORTH: GOOD. Water clear; 75 degrees; 0.93' low. Largemouth bass are good with spinners, medium crankbaits, and Texas-rigged plastic worms working drop-offs, creek channels, and boat docks. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs among brush piles, timber, and under docks. Catfish are good on punch bait and cut bait.

WRIGHT PATMAN: FAIR. Water stained; 72 degrees; 4.50' high. Largemouth bass are slow on crankbaits, spinners, and finesse worms along creek channels, riprap, and main lake flat drop-offs. White bass are fair on jigging spoons and slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows near structure and brush piles. Catfish are good on punch bait and earthworms.

SOUTH

AMISTAD: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 44.91’ low. Fall patterns are here, and we have seen success, especially later in the afternoon, in a mind southern wind. Black bass are good, moving in-between structures in less than 10 feet of water. Carolina rigged worms, square billed crankbaits, topwaters, and some crawfish imitations are working well. White bass are fair working submerged structures, and points on light-colored Alabama rigs small crankbait. Catfish are fair on shrimp, chicken livers, and stinkbait dough balls still more in the river than main lake. Remember to stay on the Texas side of the lake unless you possess a Mexican fishing license.

CALAVERAS: GOOD. Water stained; 80-82 degrees. Red drum are fair with a noticeable decrease in activity with rattletraps and live bait still excelling when conditions are right. Black bass are good with topwater, jigs, and bigger worms along vegetation, shallow on the rip rap and intake. Hybrid striped bass are fair when feeding in schools in coves on spinners or rattletraps. Catfish are good on stinkbait, chicken livers, and cut shad.

CHOKE CANYON: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 80-82 degrees; 20.90’ low. Largemouth bass are good with topwater, crankbait, and worms working calmer water in creeks or submerged structure, and overcast days are must fish days. White bass are fair but inconsistent in the deeper creek mouths and off points on sunny afternoons. Crappie are good north in any calm structure. Catfish are fair with live bait and cheese bait.

CORPUS CHRISTI LAKE: GOOD. Water stained; 82 degrees; 6.10’ low. Largemouth bass are good with fall taking over, driving bass shallower among weed beds, humps, and creeks with worms, buzzbait, jerk bait, and topwater near weed beds. Crappie are good on minnows with increased success at night. Catfish are good on cut bait and cheese bait.

FALCON: FAIR. Water lightly stained north and clear south; 84 degrees; 37.18’ low. Falcon is in the full fall swing with shallow structures taking center stage as conditions continue to improve. Black bass are fair working vegetation, continuing to submerged houses and natural formations. Catches are good-sized, typically between 4-7 lbs, and will come on the first couple of casts. Big bass are over brush, and you should be tossing large plastic worms, plastic crawfish, and square billed crankbait. The white bass are great moving throughout most structures but especially on the rocks with crankbait. Crappie are excellent in cove or creek structures and over brush. Catfish are always biting, and constant cloudy water help. Remember to stay on the Texas side unless you possess a Mexican fishing license.

MEDINA: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 25.47’ low. Black bass are good working coves and creeks with some topwater action early. Lunkers are below 8' on crankbaits and spinners. White bass are fair working points and deep coves with Alabama rigs. Striped bass are good trolling mid-lake. Crappie remain slow in creeks. Catfish are fair on live bait, chicken livers, and blood baits.

TEXANA: GOOD. Water stained; 81 degrees; 0.03’ low. Largemouth bass are great all day. Timber is the number one spot, followed by coves with worms, jigs, and buzzbaits. Crappie are excellent staying near creek structure. Catfish are good on stinkbait, cut bait, and live bait.

SOUTHEAST

BRAUNIG: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees. Red drum are slowing with still spurts of success on warm, bright days. Largemouth bass are good working the patches of vegetation with slow and enticing topwater, jigs and worms. Stripers are fair, moving deep and south. Catfish are good on live bait, cut bait, and cheese bait.

B.A. STEINHAGEN: FAIR. Water stained; 76 degrees; 0.30’ low. Black bass are good fishing vegetation and a few designated drops. Worms are good for most habitats, along with topwaters, and spinners being mobile. Crappie are good on jigs less than 7' within calm water. Sunfish are fair with jigs and crickets under docks. Catfish are good day and night on cut and prepped bait.

CONROE: GOOD. Water stained; 75 degrees; 1.46’ low. Black bass are great with worms, spinners, and topwater, working a variety of vegetation and structures lining the banks. Crappie are fair on suspended minnows close to creeks or understructure. Hybrid striped bass are fair feeding in schools in 3-10'. Catfish are good on cut bait, live bait, and dough balls. Sunfish are fair with live worms, crickets, and power bait pellets.

GIBBONS CREEK: GOOD. Water stained; 76 degrees. Largemouth bass are good with a pattern shift in place. Creeks and vegetation are most fruitful slow reeling worms, spinners, and jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows in calm, cooler water. Catfish are fair on live bait all throughout the lake along with some dough pellets. Sunfish are fair on cutworms shallow.

HOUSTON COUNTY: GOOD. Water stained; 76 degrees; 0.13’ low. Black bass are good at finding shallow covered vegetation fishing worms and crankbait working around piers and docks. Crappie are good on drops and at night off the pier. Bream and bluegill are good using live worms in the smallest of structures. Catfish are good on shad, prepped dough balls.

LIVINGSTON: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 77 degrees; 0.04’ low. Black bass are good in creeks and a few coves. Don’t spend a lot of time on any spot if it doesn’t produce early. Throw worms, jigs, and crankbaits. Striped bass are good trolling live shad. Crappie are good on jigs working submerged structures not very deep below the surface. White bass are good on spinners and Alabama rigs. Catfish are fair on live baits and stinkbait in the main river channel.

NACONICHE: GOOD. Water slightly stained; 75 degrees. Largemouth bass are good still hanging around shallow structures throwing topwater, worms, and jigs. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows moving just slightly shallow among the same structures. Sunfish are fair on pellets improving at night under lights. Catfish are good on dough balls, cut and live bait.

RAVEN: FAIR. Water stained; 77 degrees. Largemouth bass are fair to good on topwater, and Carolina-rigged worms working drops and natural habitats. Sunfish are fair on cutworms and crickets fishing cover.

SAM RAYBURN: GOOD. Water stained; 76 degrees; 3.47’ low. Largemouth bass are good using all the structures for a well rounded successful day. Creeks, timber, brush, and vegetation continue to be the primary habitat with topwater, spinners, and worms. White bass are fair on spoons on mid-depth edges of structures. Crappie are good on jigs using all structures. Catfish are good on live and stinkbait.

TOLEDO BEND: FAIR. Water stained; 73-75 degrees; 3.92’ low. Black bass are good on topwater, spoons, worms with a weighted leader and crankbait. There has been a mild return of some brush piles, but the best action is found early on topwater, especially around mile markers 4-6. White bass are fair fishing brush piles and the occasional edges of structure. Crappie are on fire on jigs and shiners with lots of limits out there and very few under keeper size. Bream are good with small jigs and crickets. Channel and blue catfish are fair on stink bait.

PANHANDLE

CISCO: FAIR. Water clear; 71 degrees; 4.69’ low. Largemouth bass are good staying close to the surface on buzzbait, poppers, and weedless jigs moving north to less clear water and working the shallow structure that exists and in some grass. Sunfish are good close to banks with any cover, and they prefer the stained water on minnows, nightcrawlers, and cutworms. Crappie are fair with jigs moving under and on the edges of docks. Catfish have been fair on stinkbait, chicken livers, and cut shad.

MEREDITH: FAIR. Water stained; 72 degrees; 50.02’ low. Black bass are fair, staying close to rocks and drops, hitting them with a one-two punch of topwater and worms. Walleye are slow, and are hard to get activity patterns. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs sitting above previously deep brush. White bass are good mid-lake in the deepest parts lacking good structure. Channel catfish are fair fishing stink bait in most places.

MILLERS CREEK: GOOD. Water stained; 73 degrees; 0.61’ high. Largemouth bass are good on vegetation and drops plus ledges shallower than 10'. Crappie are good on jigs with consistent structures. White bass are fair off points. Catfish are fair mid-depth in coves with live, blood, and liver prepared baits.

WEST ALAN HENRY: GOOD. Water clear; 68 degrees; 2.80’ low. Black bass are good getting ready for cooler weather as they move towards the warm of sunlight water on topwater, plastic worms, spinners, and crankbait. Crappie are good with jigs under and along docks and piers. Catfish are fair on live bait, cut bait, and stinkbait.

ARROWHEAD: FAIR. Water stained; 73 degrees; 0.22’ low. Largemouth bass are good in the Little Wichita Creek and other feeders on jigs, worms, and if all else fails, topwater. White bass are fair using boat equipment as the main indicator. Crappie are fair on jigs in man-made structures. Catfish are good on cheese bait, stinkbait, and minnows.

COLEMAN: FAIR. Slightly stained. 73 degrees. 2.17’ low. Hybrid stripers are good on rattletraps when they feed in schools moving towards the banks from a 20' depth and in. Largemouth bass are good with rocks and docks with topwater, buzzbaits, and jerkbaits. Crappie are fair on jigs in timber. Catfish are fair with stinkbait and cut bait.

FORT. PHANTOM HILL: GOOD. Water stained; 72 degrees; 1.00’ low. White bass are fair moving to shallower structures but still aggressive and active on Alabama rigs. Black bass are fair with little consistency with regards to structure. Crappie are fair on minnows with many structures above 8 feet deep. Catfish are fair on cut shad and stinkbait all throughout the lake.

HUBBARD CREEK: FAIR. Water stained; 71 degrees; 1.27’ low. Largemouth bass are fair with potential for a good day with conditions cooperating working out from with vegetation on worms. Crappie are good on jigs with little habitat change. White bass are fair over brush, especially if found in coves or creek mouths. Sunfish are always fair on worms. Catfish are fair on live and cut shad.

NASWORTHY: GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees. 0.97’ low. Black bass are good hitting that bulrush on topwater early, worms and jigs when available. Crappie are good with minnows and jigs enticing the edges to spurn activity. White bass are fair on Alabama rigs working narrow, deep ridges. Catfish are fair on live and prepped baits throughout the lake.

OAK CREEK: FAIR. Water lightly stained; 72 degrees; 3.09’ low. Largemouth bass are good at sticking to those natural available shallow structure. Topwater poppers are crushing it, Carolina-rigged plastic worms are a good weedless bait, and jigs are good to cover timber. Crappie are good under structures and docks. White bass are fair near largemouth and pushing into coves where they seem to roam more than largemouth. Catfish are fair on trotlines, nightcrawlers, live bait, and cut bait.

O.C. FISHER: FAIR. Water stained; 72 degrees; 40.86’ low. Largemouth bass are fair working standing vegetation grown-in with weighted worms, spinners, and topwater. Crappie are fair working jigs across humps and within protected structures. White bass are fair with drop-offs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait, live, and cut bait.

O.H. IVIE: GOOD. Water clear; 71 degrees; 12.50’ low. Black bass are excellent with many natural structures from timber, to vegetation, to shallow brush with topwaters, worms, crankbaits, and jigs. Crappie are good on jigs with slowdowns on windy days. Catfish are good on stinkbait, live, and cut bait. White bass are fair on points.

POSSUM KINGDOM: GOOD. Water clear; 71 degrees; 0.16’ low. Black bass are fair on rock structures with steep drops along with larger submerged rocks with soft plastic worms, sometimes jigs, crankbaits, and spinners. White bass are good working the narrow main lake channel. Crappie are good in bunches fishing jigs under and in large structures. Striped bass are slow. Catfish are good on cut shad with increased activity at night.

SPENCE: FAIR. Water stained; 70 degrees; 38.89’ low. Black bass are good when fished near vegetation and newer drops and ledge structures with worms and spinners. Topwater are best in calm water. White bass are slow on points. Crappie are slow without consistency. Hybrid bass are slow. Catfish are fair on live and cut bait coming out from flats to deeper water.

STAMFORD: FAIR. Water stained; 70 degrees; 1.10’ high. Black bass are fair in vegetation on topwaters and worms with some creek activity drawing attention as bass feed in deep coves north lake. Crappie are fair on jigs working the rocky mid-depth drops west. White bass are fair with Alabama rigs near the dam in the lower reservoir. Catfish are fair on live bait and stinkbait.

TWIN BUTTES: FAIR. Water stained; 71 degrees. 11.21’ low. Black bass remain good working 8 feet and above on vegetation, and rip rap on mostly artificial worms and jigs, with some success on live worms. Occasional east wind afternoons have not been good. Crappie are good on jigs staying near brush and covered water. White bass are fair with Alabama rigs on the rocks and points. Catfish are fair on live and prepped baits.

WHITE RIVER: FAIR. Water stained; 70 degrees; 24.14’ low. Drought conditions continue to be in place. Largemouth bass are fair bumping the bottom and working shallow plant life with Carolina-rigged worms, jigs, rattle traps, and spinners. Crappie are fair in more transparent, calm water on jigs. The walleye continue to be slow. Channel catfish are good on live bait, cut bait, and stinkbait with sizable catches starting to emerge.

COASTAL

SABINE LAKE: GOOD. Water stained; 74-76 degrees. The shrimp are starting to move to the main lake areas from the marshes, and the redfish and speckled trout will be close behind. Soft plastics and jigs are best for the fall. Flounder will be along the shoreline and in the bayous and are good on mud minnows.

TRINITY BAY: GOOD. 77-78 degrees. Speckled trout continue to be under the birds, and redfish are good on shrimp around the grass flats. Flounder activity is increasing around the rocks. Soft plastics and shrimp under a popping cork are working well. The north and northwest shoreline is a great area year-round due to the generating station. The cooling canal flows into the north side.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: GOOD. 75-76 degrees. The best time for redfish is now! The Bull Red Run has been incredibly busy with fish. The north and south jetties and beachfront have been great for speckled trout and redfish on fresh bait. Small speckled trout are under the birds. Sheepshead are producing along the rocks and piers on shrimp.

TEXAS CITY: GOOD. 77 degrees. Bull reds are picking up in numbers around the dike and are the best fresh cut mullet. Redfish and speckled trout are still excellent along the shoreline and levee on shrimp under a popping cork or soft plastics. Flounder are good on minnow around the rocks. Black drum are good on blue crab around deep structure or vegetation. Sheepshead are good around the rocks on mullet.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: VERY GOOD. 75-76 degrees. Bull reds along the jetties are great on fresh shad along the bottom in 20-30' of water. The shell reefs around the Intracoastal Waterway and San Luis Pass are great for speckled trout and redfish on shrimp under a cork. Flounder are good in back marshes.

FREEPORT: GOOD. 78 degrees. Redfish are very plentiful right now over the oyster reefs and around the jetties, and the best chance of catching them is throwing right in the rocks. Speckled trout are good around San Luis Pass on shrimp, MirrOlures, and soft plastics. Redfish, black drum, and sheepshead are good on live shrimp under popping cork around the reefs. Flounder are good along the drains on mullet.

EAST MATAGORDA BAY: GOOD. 77 degrees. Wading the mid-bay reefs for redfish is great using live shrimp or croaker. Speckled trout are great around Brown Cedar Flats using the same baits. Trout and Black drum are great using Bass Assassins around vegetation or deep structure.

WEST MATAGORDA BAY: GOOD. 77 degrees. Unchanged. Large schools of redfish are plentiful along the north shoreline or around Crab Lake on live shrimp or mullet. Speckled trout have been great on soft plastics in the grass flats.

PORT O’CONNOR: GOOD. 79 degrees. Speckled trout and redfish are great on topwaters on croaker and live shrimp in 4-7 feet. Black drum are good on crab around deep water and around vegetation. Concentrate on flats that are close to deep water, throw topwaters in the morning. The flounder is good on live mullet around the rocks.

PORT ARANSAS: GOOD. 81-82 degrees. Bull reds are out in full force and are best caught on live shrimp or mullet. The North Jetty and Redfish Bay are great for redfish and speckled trout on live shrimp or mullet. Black drum are good on blue crab in mid-depth water. Flounder has been good on minnow and moving along the shoreline.

ROCKPORT: VERY GOOD. 80 degrees. Unchanged. The temps are cooling, and less people out on the water make for some good fishing. Spoons and topwaters are producing excellent results. The shipping channels are still hot as well. Flounder are great around jetties and piers. Redfish and speckled trout are best on live shrimp.

CORPUS CHRISTI: GOOD. 80 degrees. The delta is excellent for speckled trout, redfish, black drum, lots of limits using soft plastics. With the incoming tides, a lot of the fish are pushing into the channels. Flounder are good around the docks and channel edges and are good on soft plastics.

BAFFIN BAY: GOOD. 80-81 degrees. Speckled trout and redfish continue to be in the deeper water around 5-7'. Redfish are feeding behind large schools of mullet in the flats and are good on cut mullet on a bottom rig. Topwater is best for black drum early in the morning.

PORT MANSFIELD: GOOD. 81-82 degrees. Speckled trout and redfish have been good around the weather station coming off the full moon. There are some big oversized reds catches using KWiggler ball tail in dirty jalapeño and red and white paddle tail. They are also coming off the west shore. Flounder are good in the east cut on KWiggler paddle tail. Snapper is good in Texas waters when the seas allow.

SOUTH PADRE: GOOD. 79-80 degrees. Redfish and speckled trout are excellent and are in the flats on shrimp under a popping cork. The jetties also remain a steady spot. Black drum are in big numbers and will continue to form in stained waters, and trout will be more likely to hit artificials or blue crab.

PORT ISABEL: GOOD. 81 degrees. Redfish have started bunching up to attack the shrimp along the edges of the grass. Speckled trout have been in the shallow water near grassy spots and are best on shrimp under a popping cork. Sheepshead are fair on minnow around the rocks. Flounder will be in the back marsh feasting around the drains. Black drum are good on blue crab around deep structure or grass.

BOLIVAR PENINSULA: GOOD. 78-80 Degrees. Unchanged. Rollover Bay is a wonderful, consistent spot for bay or wade fishing. Flounder are found in the mudflats. Redfish are in the grassy banks. Speckled trout are in the reefs. Shrimp under a popping cork is best for most species.
