FALFURRIAS- Police are investigating a traffic stop that turned into a human smuggling case.

They say a driver pulled into an apartment complex and bailed out with a passenger on Tuesday.

Both were eventually caught.

12 people in the U.S. illegally were found inside the truck and sitting in its bed.

All were detained and turned over to Border Patrol.

Authorities say one of the men is a Salvadoran national who was convicted of manslaughter in New Jersey.

Police confirm the truck was stolen out of Pasadena, TX.
