USPS Warns about Thieves Searching for Unattended Packages

WESLACO – The U.S. Postal Service is warning people about potential crooks as last-minute gifts are being delivered.

Unattended packages are easy bait for thieves so USPS is offering several tips for those expecting packages.   

"I do encourage them to put certified with the return receipt the return receipt they sign it and then the certified they track it," says post office clerk Annette Garza.

Garza suggests having the packages shipped to your post office if you aren’t sure if you’ll be home at the estimated time of delivery.
