Valley Border Patrol Agents Arrest Sex Offenders, Gang Members
EDINBURG – Since Saturday, Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol agents have arrested two sex offenders and two gang members.
On Saturday, McAllen agents working near Hidalgo arrested a Salvadoran national after he entered the United States illegally.
During processing, agents discovered a previous arrest in Indiana by the Huntingburg Police Department.
Records indicated that the HPD arrested him for sexual misconduct with a minor.
A judge subsequently sentenced the Salvadoran national to two years confinement.
That same day, McAllen agents arrested a Salvadoran national for illegally entering the United States.
During processing, records checks revealed the man to be a member of the Mara Salvatrucha gang with a previous arrest in El Salvador for extortion.
On Wednesday, McAllen agents arrested a female Salvadoran national after she entered the United States illegally.
During processing, record checks revealed she is a member of the Mara Salvatrucha gang with several prior immigration removals.
Hours later, Falfurrias agents working on the vast ranchlands of Brooks County arrested a Salvadoran national attempting to circumvent the Falfurrias Checkpoint.
During processing, record checks revealed a prior arrest in California.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office charged the Salvadoran man with Annoying/Molest victim under 18 years of age.
A judge sentenced the man to 33 days confinement and 60 months of probation.
The Border Patrol is processing both subjects accordingly.
