Walker Lake in La Joya Facing Dry Conditions, Invasive Species

LA JOYA – A La Joya lake is dealing with both dry conditions and an invasive species.

Walker Lake is infested with Hydrilla, an invasive plant that can make the lake uninhabitable for fish and changes the water quality.

Dry weather is also taking a toll on water levels, affecting the area once known as “paradise”.

KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro finds out what is being done to improve the lake’s conditions.
