WESLACO – A Weslaco man is concerned his leaky roof may cause health concerns.

He says he hired a contractor to install a new steel roof, but now he can't get ahold of him.

When the Tanulas came back from visiting their daughters in other states the past few months, they noticed yellow patches along their 1-year-old roof.

Ken Tanula says he immediately contacted Jairo Mendoza with Mendoza Paint Remodeling and Construction when he noticed the leaks.

He hired Mendoza last September.

The contract includes a three-year guarantee for the interior and exterior, labor included. But then Mendoza stopped answering his calls.

"That damage is the roof up there it's going to get moldy up there. Moisture's going to collect up there and with the heat up there sooner or later it's going to cause us a problem," says Tanula.

Tanula says he wants his roof fixed before the rain causes any more damages.
