RAYMONDVILLE – Willacy County officials are scheduled to meet with federal agency representatives to request governmental public assistance.

However, the aid they plan to request from the Federal Emergency Management Agency would help pay for damages to public infrastructure but would not include aid for private properties.

Officials say damages to homes were not severe enough to be eligible for government assistance.

The closed meeting is set to take place on Wednesday.
