The inmate — identified as Oscar Ulises Lopez Castro — managed to “elude” elude security measures in the recreational area of the jail but was apprehended quickly after breaching the last security fence, the sheriff’s office stated in a social media post.

According to a news release, Castro was at the detention center on a charge of evading arrest. During a preliminary interview with investigators, Castro said he "just wanted to go home."
